Man Made Doctrines

2Ti 4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at[1] His appearing and His kingdom:2Ti 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;2Ti 4:4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.2Ti 4:5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

It is sad and unfortunate that many in the world today have decided to turn from God.  The desire is go and make their own desires brought forwardand to say that is the way it needs to be done.

Many do not desire to obey God and follow God's will.  However they still want to call Jesus Lord (Matthew 7:21-23).  One has placed there own desires above God's desires or one has lowered the standards lower than God's standard.  This is considered foolishness!  However those that will enter in to heaven will do the Father's will!

Members of the body of Christ should not be acting like nuts.  We are to be working for the one cause and God has given us the understanding by how we are to act and obey (Ephesians 4:4-6).  This is the subject of unity working together for the same cause (Ephesians 4:16) (Philippians 3:12-16).

Are we acting like nuts or are we acting in a way to give God the glory?  Things to ponder.

Gimmicks

You again it amazes me with the gimmicks that people use to draw people in.  I look at this sign and conside the message taht is behind it.  We do not need gimmicks to draw people in.  Some believe we need food, entertainment, and activities to draw others in.  I am reminded that some that I knew used something called "The Church Family Shoot out" bring others and bring shoutguns to one's house and we will have fellowship and be able to encourage one to consider coming to worship.  Seriously???

The gospel and the gospel alone is our power to salvation (Romans 1:16-17)  This was the message the apostles and dsicples used to spread the gospel and reach out to others to obey.  It was a gimmick or other type of thing to entice them in.  They used the power of the Holy Spirit to prove they were men of God however they first preached the gospel to such people.

The message inside is what we need to present also on the outside to others.  When outside the church building let's use the word of God (Hebrews 4:12) to draw others in.  The word that if believed and obeyed will lead us to salvation (Acts 2:37-42).  Gimmicks won't work!
