Equal Opportunity

As I go around traveling to different areas throughout the country I have see many interesting signs.  Here is one that I have come across over time.  I want you to really think about what this sign says.  The concept is true to a very minimal point.

Think about the message portrayed here.  God the Father wants all to be saved (II Peter 3:9).  However notice this passage here.  God does not want any to perish but God wants all to come to repentance.  This as we can see means a change in our life.  This change that is being mentioned here is a change to the ways of God.

God has given His Son Jesus as a sacrficie for all people everywhere.  However it does not mean we will be accepted the way we currently are.  God will not accept those who continue to live in sin (Romans 3:23).  We become separated from God and in the end is spiritual death (Romans 6:23).  Sin is lawlessness and God does not respect lawlessness (Matthew 7:23).

We cannot continue in our sinful ways and expect God to make special circumstances for one's situation.  This is why we must come to the understanding of repentance to God's standards.  Our ways have alienated ourselves from God (Ephesians 4:17-24) however, this gives ample opportunity for us to change our ways to the ways of God.

Jesus is does provide equal opportunity for everyone.  However, it is equal opportunity for us to change our ways to a new standard (Matthew 7:24-27).  A standard that Jesus made possible, a standard that we cannot take for granted by thinking that we will be accepted the way we are.

We have equal opportunity to believe in the gospel and obey it by turning from sin and turning to God (Romans 1:16-17)

Are you taking advantage of this opportunity by believing in and obeying the gospel?

Being Cool Fitting In

As I in the past like almost everyone I went to school. It always happened where there were many groups in school. You had the athletes, smart people, rockers, skate boarders, and of course the cool kids. So many wanted to be in this group of being cool. They will whatever it takes to be socially accepted in this group and it is very scary that so many want to be socially accepted. They will do drugs, commit crimes, do unthinkable acts all to be cool.

Not very many know about Jesus. It is through Jesus that we know the way that pertains to eternal life (John 14:1-6). His way may not be the most popular in the views of the world however His ways are eternal.

How much is it really to be cool? Will one literally die if they are not part of said group. To be honest I do believe that those who want to be cool and do whatever it takes to be cool are in higher risks of losing their life physically and spiritually! What is the most coolest thing. Living with God or being engulfed in an eternal flame?

Opening

Helloe to everyone who will see this blog.  Over the years as I have been able to travel I have seen many things on the road.  One of them being different signs and sayings that people have for the building they assemble in for worship.

It amazes me to the point that I have always asked "what will one think of next?"  Some are very serious then there are some that you just read and wonder "why?"

I want to share with you these different signs as I continue and have opportunity to see different things that I see.  I hope this is very enjoyable for you as it is for me.

Please take the time to read them and drop me a line and tell me what you think.

If you ever come across one take a picture of it send it to me and I will put it up as time allows.  I don't see them all and I would enjoy it if you shared them with me also.

Thanks again,

Daniel
